Our Tourism Program brings visitors and their dollars into the Northampton area and serves them while they are here.
Objectives:
Promote the area as a destination.
Provide information and serve visitors.
Develop new travel and tourism markets.
Develop infrastructure to support tourism expansion.
Results:
Created a new marketing
strategy focusing on lifestyle market niches rather than geographic markets.
With a grant from the Greater Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, the
Chamber launched a robust marketing campaign directed at
Gay and Lesbian travelers; a high potential
tourist market for the Northampton area.
Created a new visual identity and brand for the Northampton area, working with the Downtown Program committee.
Overhauled the Chamber’s website for visitors.
Completed a market feasibility study to demonstrate the potential for the redevelopment of the 3-County Fairgrounds as a year-round exhibition center.
