Powerful and poignant, award-winning City of Borders reveals the lives of five lesbian and gay Israelis and Palestinians as they navigate the minefield of politics, religion, family, and discrimination in order to live and love openly in Israel. How does a lesbian couple handle their cultural and religious differences when one is a Palestinian Arab and the other an Israeli Jew? How does a young gay Palestinian man perform as a woman, be himself, yet still seek his mother's love and approval? How does an openly gay man on the Jerusalem City Council deal with the public homophobic verbal assaults from his fellow councilors?
